For those who would like a more leisurely experience why not try the Newcastle West Slí na Sláinte route which is a gentle 3.7km route starting in the heart of the Square bringing you alongside the banks of the River Arra, through the Demesne back to your starting point, or you could enjoy a relaxing stroll or a more energetic cycle on one of the trails on the Limerick Greenway.

The Ardagh to Newcastle West (4km) section is level at each end with a with a slight dip in the middle or the Newcastle West to Barnagh (10km) section which is gently uphill all the way.

If you’d prefer a relaxed few hours away from the hustle and bustle then why not head to Newcastle West Golf Club which is an 18 hole parkland golf course and driving range, for a round of golf?
