Paralympian medal winner Róisín Ní Riain is inviting people from Limerick and beyond to join her for ‘a bit of fun with family and friends’ as she prepares to lead out this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Limerick City.
The 19 year old swimmer is this year’s Parade Grand Marshal for the annual celebration of Irish culture and community, a highpoint of the Limerick St. Patrick’s Festival 2025 from March 15th to 17th
Róisín is ready to dive in to the theme of this year’s festival, ‘A More Fun Limerick,’ saying:
“I was delighted to be asked to be Limerick’s St. Patrick’s Day Grand Marshal for this year's city parade. It's such an honour. I'm really looking forward to the day and getting out there and seeing all the people of Limerick. St. Patrick’s Day is such a nice time of the year for all of us here in Ireland and definitely in Limerick. So, it'll be an exciting day and great to get out and to have a bit of fun with friends and family.”
The Limerick City St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins at midday on March 17th.
The 53rd International Band Championship takes place a day earlier on Sunday, 16th March, also starting at midday.
The universal access area for both parades is at The Crescent, O’Connell Street - Universal Access Area.
Other festivities across the weekend include lively street shows, engaging storytelling sessions, and, of course, vibrant parades across the county.
