Excitement is building as the elves are putting the finishing touches to this year’s Christmas in Limerick festive offering.

Limerick city centre has always had a magical atmosphere at Christmas time and this year it will be bigger and better than ever.

From old favourites to exciting new events there will be something for everyone of all ages this Christmas with the full programme of events being checked twice before it will be unwrapped next month, for all to enjoy.

So you’d better watch out and save the dates in your festive calendar as you certainly won’t want to be missing out on Limerick’s Christmas treats and that magical Christmas atmosphere that only the city can create.

They will join a sack full of new events, starting at the end of November and running up to Christmas, while also supporting animation and entertainment on the city streets as well as a series of Christmas performances by local creative organisations.

King John’s Castle and Nicholas Street, The Limerick City Traders Association, the Limerick Milk Market, and many other businesses will be offering their own Christmas goodies, ensuring Limerick’s Christmas stocking is full to the brim with an exciting festive line up.

It is envisaged that Limerick City will become a destination for locals and visitors throughout the Christmas period, where families can come in and spend time together, that visitors to the city will have plenty to see and do and the atmosphere will be festive and uplifting, after two years of restrictions.

The Marketing & Communications Department of Limerick City and County Council is busily preparing a Christmas in Limerick promotional campaign.

To get your event included in our promotions, email your details to web.content@limerick.ie, but hurry closing date is very soon [Friday 28 October 2022].
