Limerick 2030 Plan
Limerick is investing over €1 billion in enterprise and investment infrastructure as part of the Limerick 2030 Vision: An Economic and Spatial Plan for Limerick, a 20 year action plan, which aims to transform Limerick through the economic, social and physical renaissance of Limerick City Centre and the wider Mid West Region.
O'Connell Street Revitalisation
An investment of €9.1M in the revitalisation of O'Connell Street, the heart of the Limerick/Shannon gateway, will result in quantifiable improvements to urban mobility and the urban environment.
Limerick Shannon Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy (LSMATS)
The draft Limerick Shannon Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy (LSMATS) sets out a framework for investment in transport for the Limerick Shannon Metropolitan Area for the next 20 years and includes proposals for the significant development of the cycle network and enhancement of bus services and infrastructure.
Ireland 2040
It is our vision that the Mid West Limerick City region, building on the strong governance structures that already exist, will be developed into a dynamic Tier 2 City Region, identified in the NPF as a focus for growth which can exert critical mass leverage to contribute towards national development and competitiveness.
Innovate Limerick
Innovate Limerick helps drive innovation and act as the delivery mechanism for the projects outlined in the Limerick 2030 plan and the Limerick Regeneration implementation plans.
Limerick Regeneration
Limerick Regeneration Framework Implementation Plan envisages one of the largest capital programmes and largest regeneration programme in the State.
Northern Distributor Road
The aim of this scheme is to provide a transport link between the eastern and western fringes of Limerick City and a link to South County Clare to facilitate economic development in this region.
Active Travel
The Active Travel team at Limerick City and County Council, with funding from the National Transport Authority, is transforming Limerick’s cycling and walking network. This partnership with the NTA will deliver a high-quality, accessible and connected network of cycleways and pedestrian routes.
Living Limerick - City Engage
Living Limerick - City Engage is about developing a vision for living in the historic core of Limerick city. Through the process we will explore ways to make the city more liveable in the design of new public realm projects and initiatives.
Living Georgian Limerick
The Living City Initiative is a scheme of property tax incentives designed to regenerate both historic buildings and other buildings in Limerick.
Smarter Cities Challenge
Limerick, which has Ireland's fastest aging population, aims to improve quality of life and independence of older adults through increased connectivity and improved access to key services. The city wants to develop a data management framework that would enable them to predict and respond to the needs of older people, especially those in more isolated and disadvantaged areas.
Limerick Southside Masterplan
The Limerick Southside Masterplan is being developed to make the most of the existing assets of lands at the southern side of the city and introduce uses, which improve safety, so that the local community can enjoy it.
Foynes to Limerick Road
Limerick City and County Council has applied to An Bord Pleanála for approval of the Foynes to Limerick Road (including Adare Bypass) project. The proposed project is 35km in length, and will connect the Core Port of Foynes to the Motorway network near Limerick.
