Athlunkard Boat Club, founded in 1898, has a long and distinguished history. It began when a couple of boys from the Parish decided to start up a boat club.
Today it continues to be a competitive club with more than 40 members involved. Athlunkard is always open for new members to come down and join the club.
Athlunkard Boat Club is located on the O’Dwyer Bridge just outside Limerick City. The clubhouse that was built in 1925 can be seen from the bridge and is still being used by the rowers today.
