Get that Friday feeling as the Limerick St. Patrick's Festival 2025 is ready to take over the streets of Limerick this Bank Holiday weekend, promising an unforgettable celebration.

From March 15th to March 17th, Limerick will be transformed into a hub of excitement, joy, and celebration. This year's festival theme, 'A More Fun Limerick,' promises to bring an extra dose of cheer and creativity to the festivities. 

With events at iconic locations like King John's Castle and The Hunt Museum, this festival promises a celebration of Irish culture, music, and community spirit like never before.  

Kick off the festivities tomorrow (Saturday) with captivating performances like "The Most Dangerous Animal in the World" and "A Snail’s Tale," or the vibrant "INIS – The Family Experience."  

On Sunday, the streets will come alive with the 53rd International Band Championship. Talented marching bands from Ireland and America will compete for the coveted title of International Band Champions, filling the streets of Limerick city with lively music and exuberant performances culminating with the famous Jamboree at Arthur’s Quay Park. Don't miss the Shamrock Street Shows and the enchanting "Tales of St. Patrick by The Limerick Fireside."  

On Monday, early birds can start their day with Breakfast Bangers – Irish Chamber Orchestra’s ICO Youth or catch the lively Céilí Mór at the Limerick Milk Market ahead of the spectacular Limerick St. Patrick’s Day Parade led by Parade Grand Marshal, double Paralympic medallist, Róisín Ní Riain, celebrating the theme 'A More Fun Limerick.' A Post Parade Block Party at Merchant’s Quay promises to keep the celebrations going.  

It’s a big weekend across the county with many communities in the final planning stages for parades and events to celebrate Ireland’s patron saint.

Abbeyfeale’s own St. Patrick’s Festival, Spraoi in the Marquee is getting underway today. Patrickswell is hosting the Antiques Art & Vintage Fair, and there’s a fun run in Croom

Mayor of Limerick, John Moran, is wishing all of Limerick a Happy St. Patrick’s Day and a happy Limerick St. Patrick’s Festival:

Details of road closures to facilitate Limerick St. Patrick’s Festival 2025 can be found at Limerick.ie

Bus Éireann advise that on St. Patrick's Day, Monday 17 March 2025, all services will operate to a Sunday schedule.  

On March 16th and 17th there will be changes to a number of services in Limerick City (301, 302, 303, 304, 304A, 306) between 07:00 and 16:15. 

Services in Adare and Rathkeale will also be affected by parades. Full details on Buseireann.ie

Universal Access Area at Crescent, O’Connell Street 

  • Autism Friendly  

ASD Ireland, in partnership with Limerick City and County Council, present an autism friendly, relaxed environment to view the Limerick St. Patrick’s Festival parades in Limerick City. The purpose-built, wheelchair accessible and eco-friendly mobile sensory room is the first of its kind. Request access to this viewing point at the Crescent, O’Connell Street by emailing keith@asdireland.ie.  

  • Wheelchair Accessible  

The wheelchair accessible viewing area will be at The Crescent, O’Connell Street for both St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the International Band Championship Parade on Sunday, 16th March. Access will be by wristband only, with limited availability. Request access to this viewing point at the Crescent, O’Connell Street by emailing keith@asdireland.ie.  

Blue Badge parking available on Lower Harstonge Street.
