The Orchard Bed and Breakfast is a family run Home Stay. A warm welcome awaits you and you will be invited to have tea or coffee on arrival. There is always homemade cake in the cake tin, so please help yourselves.
The Orchard B&B is easy to find. On the N21, travelling south, I am on the right hand side of the road, just after the start of the 60 km speed limit. Chances are you will pass me by, so go down to the roundabout and come back up to me again. You can have breakfast most mornings from 7am to 10am. I have an extensive menu with plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, homemade breads and jams, the traditional Irish breakfast as well as omelettes and pancakes. So far I have been able to cope with a variety of people with food intolerant problems and ending up baking a cake that is free from Gluten, Soya and Lactose.
Newcastle West is a great centre for exploring The Limerick Greenway. Bicycles can be hired locally.
Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum and Adare Heritage Centre and Stonehall Visitor Farm are just 20 minutes away.
There is a rich heritage in Limerick and there are many castles and monasteries to visit.
The Desmond Hall in the centre of our town is a must.
Askeaton Heritage Trail is steeped in history with the help of Anthony Sheehy; you will get a great flavour of our past.
There are many Genealogy experts in our neighbourhood who are a mine of information on our past and they will give you a flavour of what was going on in Ireland at the time that most ancestors left.
We have many excellent eating restaurants and pubs which are reasonably priced.
