Established in 2007, the Castleconnell Historical Society is a voluntary group of individuals who are interested in preserving and promoting the history of Castleconnell and it's environs.
The Society is a member of the Federation of Local Historical Societies.
On the second Tuesday of each month, from October to March, the Society hosts a talk on a variety of local and national topics from different periods in the past. Our talks are well attended and are both informative and entertaining.
From time to time projects are undertaken including a local history project with the local primary school, the documentation of the headstones in the oldest cemetery, and we are currently devising an oral history project.
The Society also undertakes outing and tours at different times of the year.
