A fascinating exhibition that delves into 100 years of history of An Garda Síochána has opened in Limerick.
Running at Istabraq Hall in Limerick City and County Council headquarters from Wednesday 21st September until 30th September 2022 (excluding the weekend) the exhibition is being run to mark the centenary of An Garda Síochána.
The exhibition runs from 10am to 4pm daily with a member of An Garda Síochána in attendance at the exhibition every day.
Among the items on display are a number of old uniforms, information regarding the history of An Garda Síochána, and never seen before crime scene photographs of incidents in Limerick.

Other events taking part in Limerick as part of the Centenary celebrations include:
- Colouring Competition in Newcastle West and wider area primary schools beginning mid-October
- Reenactment in Newcastle West on 18th November at 11.30am
Event to begin at old Railway station where members will march from Bishop’s Court to Newcastle West Square and on to Maiden Street, where the first station was located.
Viewing area along centre of Square for public/ guests.
All present will be invited to move into Desmond Castle following reenactment. - Open Day at Desmond Castle, The Square, Newcastle West on 18th November 2022 at 12 noon.
Garda units on display in Courtyard and memorabilia on display in Castle.

- Reenactment at Courthouse in Adare on 19th November 2022 at 12 noon.
- An Open Day at Bruff Garda Station, on 5th October, 2022, where medal ceremony for serving members, Garda staff and retired members will take place.
