Fishing in Limerick City
Founded in 1939, Limerick and District Angling Association is a salmon, trout and coarse angling club based on the Shannon River. Covering a vast area of the Shannon from O’Brien’s Bridge and its tributaries to Thomond Bridge in the heart of Limerick City, the club holds competitions all year round.
Fishing in Castleconnell
A beautiful location on the Shannon, about 10kms north east of Limerick City and tidal water, Castleconnell is one of the most prestigious salmon fisheries in Ireland.

Sea Fishing in the Shannon Estuary
From Limerick City, the River Shannon gradually widens on the final 80km of its journey to the sea, forming a major estuary.
Both shorelines of the Shannon Estuary offer easy access and very good sea fishing from a line across the river from Kildysert to Foynes, downriver to the mouth of the estuary. Many of the best shore angling access points are signposted along the tidal stretch.
Shore Fishing in Glin
Glin Beach is situated 1.6km east of Glin, just off the N69 Glin to Limerick road. With ample parking in the lay-by access is good for fishing from the shore.
