Catholic Institute Athletic Club was formed in 1910 and is one of the oldest sporting institutions in Munster and Ireland.

The club has a long and rich tradition in the Limerick area for promoting the sport of Hockey and throughout the decades has provided Munster & Ireland with numerous Tennis, Hockey & Squash International and Interprovincial players.

The club is mutli-denmoinational in its outlook and currently caters for 5 Sports, Hockey, Squash, Tennis, Golf and Pitch & Putt.

Hockey

The club is based in Rosbrien Limerick and is the only Senior Menus Club in Limerick which currently consists of  3 Senior Men's Teams and 2 Senior Ladies Teams.

In addition to the Senior Side there is also a vibrant and growing Junior Girls & Boys Sections.

  • Training for the Men's Sections occurs Tuesday 8.30pm and Thursday 9pm

  • Training for the Ladies Section occurs Tuesday 7pm and Thursday 7.30pm

  • Junior Girls Coaching is Sunday Mornings at 11.00am

  • Junior Boys Coaching is Friday evening at 7pm

The club caters for all grades from International & Inter-provincial to beginners or Vets and are always looking for players to participate in the sport of Hockey.

The Club in addition to it's large Limerick contingent also has in it's ranks players from Germany, Belgium, Australia, Pakistan, India, Cork, Galway, Dublin and even Cloughjordan so all are welcome.
