The Slieve Felim Way

  • The Slieve Felim Way 810 x 456

Glimpses of some of Ireland's most spectacular waterways, plenty of forest trails and an interesting mountain route which is not too demanding, the Slieve Felim Way has much to offer the walking enthusiast.

Distance: 36 km

Start: Murroe, Co. Limerick

Difficulty: Moderate

Trail Guide: Download the Slieve Felim Way trail guides here

Stretching from Murroe in County Limerick to Silvermines Village in County Tipperary (a distance of approximately 23 miles (36 kilometres), the Slieve Felim Way takes you into the heart of the beautiful, rural countryside.

Along the way, you encounter a series of unspoilt hills and mountains but the fully approved NWWC walking trail is gentle on the limbs, with all of the peaks being avoided.

Commencing with the Slieve Felim range to the south, valleys and hills run east-west in the general area.

As you move northwards, through the Mauher Slieve Hills which predominately lay to the east of the walk, the 2,279 ft. (694 m) high Keeper Hill - the highest mountain in the Shannon Region - comes into view.
