Adare Heritage Centre is located in the heart of Adare village, Co. Limerick, and offers an exciting range of facilities for every visitor.
Step back in time and take a journey through the Historical Exhibition, a reconstruction of Adare’s unique past from the arrival of the Normans to the ancient Abbeys of the Middle Ages.
Or why not take a guided tour of the 13th Century Desmond Castle, one of the few remaining authentic Norman Castles in Europe.
The centre is home to the Dovecote restaurant, which is open for breakfast, lunch and coffee. Pre-booking is available.
Adare Heritage Centre also houses a number of retail units such as the Adare Woollen Mills, which stocks traditional Irish woollens and knitwear, Black Abbey Crafts, where you will find gifts, ceramics, craft jewellery and Irish linen and lace and Currans Heraldry, family crest experts specializing in all aspects of the science of Coat-of-Arms, research, hand painting, embroidery, shields, plaques, parchments and fascinating information on 200,000 Irish, British and European names.
There is also a Tourist Information Point, who can help with any queries.
