Crowds of people lined the streets to watch Limerick city transform into a winter wonderland as the renowned LUXe Theatre Company brought the spectacle of ‘A Magical Winter’s Tale’ to life.
Beautifully costumed characters and elegant sculptures lit up the night, setting the perfect tone for the festive season.
Brought to you by Limerick City and County Council, the illuminated procession was part of the Christmas in Limerick programme of events offering opportunities to create long-lasting memories with family and friends.
The festive season is now in full swing across the city and county and there's still plenty to look forward to.
The Council’s Marketing and Communications team continues to update the list of events organised by groups across Limerick, as we countdown to 2025.
Limerick.ie/Christmas is packed with exciting events for all ages right through to the New Year.
Upcoming Events
Here are some of the upcoming highlights:
- A Cruises Street Christmas: Each Saturday and Sunday before Christmas enjoy stilt-walkers, circus acts, juggling Jack Frost and kiddies’ discos among many other incredible performers!
- Christmas Couture at the Castle: A fashion show at King John’s Castle on December 7th showcasing the latest trends.
- Santa's Greenway Fancy Dress Cycle: Join Santa on December 8th for a festive bike ride starting at the Limerick Greenway Ardagh Hub.
- Christmas at Limerick Milk Market: Experience traditional food, crafts, and gifts every weekend until Christmas.
- Fossett's Christmas Circus: Running from December 12th to January 5th at the Cleeves site, featuring acrobatics and festive fun.
- Limerick on Ice is also open daily until January 5th at Arthur’s Quay Park, offering fun for both seasoned skaters and beginners.

Christmas shoppers and visitors to Limerick city can avail of more than 9,000 designated on and off street car parking spaces, 46 km of dedicated cycle lanes and over 30 bus routes serving the city, county and region.

City Centre On-Street Parking
- Over 4,000 on-street parking spaces in Limerick City
- Parking is from 50c per half hour (Monday to Saturday)
