With tickets almost sold out, The Wolfe Tones have announced some very special guests for their huge outdoor show at the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick on 26th August. George Murphy and The Rising Sons, Michael Maloney and Cailíní Lua will join the folk legends on stage for an unforgettable day of music.
Fresh from a sold-out tour of the USA and Ireland, the most exciting voice in Irish Folk, George Murphy brings his eight-piece band The Rising Sons to the Ennis Road venue. The Rising Sons are the perfect blend of Trad, Folk and Rock ‘n’ Roll joining whistles fiddles and banjos with electric guitars, bass and percussion. The audience will enjoy George and The Rising Sons own original material as well as their unique and fresh stamp on old folk classics.
Meanwhile, Michael Maloney is being hailed as “a worthy contender to Gerry Cinnamon’s ballad crown” and has over 10 million Spotify streams for his anthems “Aussie Man” and “What Do You Want To Know”. Cailíní Lua are having a huge year with the appearances at the Temple Bar Trad Fest and regular US shows.
