Summer Nights to Remember at Riverfest Limerick 2023

  • Riverfest Limerick

It’s time to book the babysitter with loads on offer for grown-ups to enjoy at Riverfest Limerick this May Bank Holiday weekend. The festival has a focus on family friendly events but adults own the night.

Chill out with entertainment, live music, food trucks, bars, carnival rides and a great social atmosphere at the Riverfestival Village, open at Arthur’s Quay Park across the weekend.

It’s the perfect setting to launch a night out with friends in the vibrant city centre with its many popular restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

Get some tips for your weekend wardrobe at Fashion Friday at Arthur’s Quay Shopping Centre.

ROGU ‘Firestorm’ will light up the night with a fantastical performance on Bedford Row on Friday night.

Challenge your friends to freefall into a giant airbag at the Riverfest Freedrop or take a romantic night-time spin on the Panoramic Wheel. Sample some local produce with an Ultimate Brewery Tour at Treaty City Brewery.

RTE’s Jenny Greene will add to the party vibe with two sold out performances at Dolans while Hermitage Green will storm King John’s Castle for another sold-out gig.

On Sunday night you can take a chance on the Abba Sensations performing at the Strand Hotel and then look to the skies for the Riverfest Spectacular Fireworks Display

On the periphery of Riverfest it promises to be an exciting weekend in Limerick for sports fans. Cheer on Treaty United when they take on Kerry FC in the Markets Field on Friday evening. On Saturday it’s Munster Senior Hurling action between old rivals Limerick and Clare at the TUS Gaelic Grounds at 7pm.

Senior Executive Officer for Tourism at Limerick City and County Council, Eileen Coleman said: “The Riverfest weekend isn’t just for kids. There are plenty of attractions to suit grown-ups. Enjoy the view of Limerick City at night from the top of the Panoramic Wheel. Take in some live music sessions and sample the nightlife in the lively city pubs, clubs and restaurants. Relax and unwind this May Bank Holiday at Limerick’s Riverfest.”

Riverfest Limerick attracted 120,000 people into the city last year.

This year the festival runs from Friday 28 April to Monday 1 May.
