City of Churches

Limerick has a skyline of spires. The city has more places of worship on its main street than any other city or town in Ireland. Limerick: City of Churches, looked at this architectural legacy and the social history of the city’s many places of faith.

As part of the City of Culture programme at Limerick Archives, this travelling exhibition toured the city moving from Central Buildings, 51a O’Connell Street to seven different venues within the city, including the Augustinians and St Mary’s Cathedral.
