The Limerick Protestant Young Men's Association (LPYMA) was founded in 1853 and is based at its clubhouse at 97 O'Connell Street.

The LPYMA was founded to provide its members with the means for spiritual, mental, moral, social and physical improvement as well as for the promotion of Literary and Scientific study; and for the cultivation of artistic taste. The club provided many sports clubs over the years including cricket, tennis, hockey, badminton and bowls. Its societies have included the debating society (The Firesiders), the chess club, photography club and billiard club.

The association continues today in a smaller capacity, but is still active with several clubs.

The clubhouse has a variety of spaces available for classes etc. including a library, sports hall and lecture hall.
