Parking fines and appeals are managed by the Traffic Management Section of Limerick City and County Council. You can pay your fine online, by post, over the phone or in person.
Parking Fines
The following charges apply if paid within 28 days of issue of the Fixed Charge Offence Notice.
These amounts plus 50% will apply if paid within the next 28 day period.

For illegal parking in a disabled parking bay | €150 |
Parking a vehicle on a footway/grass margin/median strip | €80 |
Parking a vehicle in a cycle track | €80 |
Parking a vehicle in a bus lane during the period of operation of the bus lane | €80 |
All other parking offences | €40 |
Manner of Payment
- Pay in person at Limerick City and County Council Offices at Merchants Quay and Dooradoyle, Newcastle West, Rathkeale or Kilmallock, by cash or credit/debit card.
- Pay by post with a postal order (Please quote ticket number and car registration number when sending in postal payment).
- Pay by telephone 061 529029 (24 hour service) using Credit/Debit Card.
- Pay online as per below.

You can also complete an appeal form in our Customer Service Offices at Merchants Quay or Dooradoyle, or at the Municipal Offices in Kilmallock and Newcastle West.
Please Note: We cannot accept appeals after the expiration of the period of 56 days from the date of your fixed charge notice.

Traffic Management Enforcement
Limerick's team of Traffic Wardens is managed by the Traffic Management Section of Limerick City & County Council and wardens are assigned to duties including:
- Enforcement of local parking bye-laws
- Enforcement of central traffic and parking regulations
Enforcement is managed in a structured manner within our resources to prioritise:
- Safe management of the roads\streets
- Optimisation of traffic free flow &
- The availability of on-street parking
Prior to their assignment our Traffic Wardens are specially trained to be versant with the traffic and parking regulations and bye-laws and also must commit to carrying out their role conscientiously, honestly and impartially. All Local Authority employees also commit to performing their duties with diligence, efficiency and courtesy.
