Newcastle West is one of five access points to the Limerick Greenway - carving a 40km path through the local countryside, the Limerick Greenway offers an authentic experience of rural Ireland for cyclists, runners and walkers. Following the old Limerick to Kerry railway line, the Greenway seamlessly links the West Limerick landscape with bustling towns and villages and some of the country’s most historic sites.

The 4 star Longcourt House Hotel is an ideal place to base yourself and is conveniently located at the entrance to the town and just a 5 minute walk to the town centre. Or you could choose from the many family-run local B&Bs who promise a warm Irish welcome in comfortable surroundings.

If golf is your thing then don’t miss out on the beautiful but challenging parkland course at Newcastle West Golf Club or you could start the day with a dip in the pool at West Limerick Sports Complex. If running is your thing then the local Park Run in the Demesne is a must and takes place every Saturday morning.
