Newcastle West Arts

  • Newcastle West Arts

Newcastle West Arts is a voluntary group that seeks to encourage and foster interest and activity in the arts among all sections of the community.

The late poet Michael Hartnett set up Newcastle West Arts in the late 1970’s and others interested in the arts.

Based in Newcastle West but serving the entire West Limerick area, our members act in a voluntary capacity to encourage visual and performance artists as well as writers to bring the arts to the general community.

We do this by arranging events, exhibitions and workshops by amateur, semi- and professional artists. Events are generally offered at a minimal entry cost or free.

A small number of exhibitions (group & solo) are arranged each year. Details of submission process available by email.

The group also promotes and creates public art works.

We work with other groups involved in the arts and the local Tidy Towns committee.
