Operating since 1997, Friars’ Gate Theatre is a vibrant venue and arts centre in the heart of Munster. It is dedicated to promoting equality and inclusion in the community by giving all people a forum for expression.
Friars’ Gate is an intimate 130 seat venue in the heart of medieval Kilmallock which hosts a wide variety of performances, including music, theatre and drama presented by professional and amateur groups.
Over the past twenty-plus years Friars’ Gate has presented a busy and diverse programme, bringing an eclectic artistic mix and teaching of the highest standards to a wide rural audience.
As one of the main focal points for theatre and arts in the region, Friars’ Gate is committed to the promotion of the arts in their widest form.
We offer a diverse range of activities with a vibrant performance, exhibition, community outreach and education programme.
We aim to run a successful, thriving theatre and arts centre which is an asset to all members of the community and a haven of cultural and artistic activity.
We also hold book club meetings and various workshops.
Munster Vales
Munster Vales is a tourism destination of domestic and international significance spanning five mountain ranges including Ballyhoura. The Munster Vales proposition is to promote and develop the outstanding outdoor activity and heritage product within East Limerick, connecting the unique visitor experiences of this rural uplands with the counties of Tipperary, Waterford, Cork and Limerick.
