About “A Different Kind of Energy”

Limerick City and County Council (LCCC) launched Limerick’s first-ever place brand, “Limerick. Atlantic Edge, European Embrace,” in January 2020 to promote Limerick globally. The brand highlights Limerick as a unique and vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

Four years later, the brand continues to evolve, focusing on a unified positioning statement that combines Limerick’s grit and warmth to drive collaboration and innovation. This “Limerick spirit” is unexpected, a little mischievous, yet positive and based on real substance. “Limerick. A Different Kind of Energy,” emphasises Limerick’s distinctive energy and spirit, encouraging people to embrace a different kind of experience.

The winners of the City Nation Place Awards 2024 will be announced at the City Nation Place Global conference in London in November.
