Continue today’s adventure on a short road trip south to Adare, a picture postcard village with thatched cottages, medieval buildings and eclectic mix of fashion, craft and souvenir shops. 

Stop for lunch at Aunty Lena’sTimmy Macs Bistro, or a little treat at Ted’s Ice Cream Parlour at StacpooleCoffee House – all firm family favourites! Spend some time at Adare Pitch & Putt or Manor Fields Playground.

While away the afternoon at Wild Encounters, home to lots of birds, reptiles, bugs and more! Keep an eye out for Seamus the skunk, Barney the owl and the giddy goats Leonardo Dicaprigoat and Jean Paul Goatier!

Finish your day out in Newcastle West, and take a free guided tour of Desmond Castle & Banqueting Hall an imposing and impressive 12th Century castle in the centre of town. Climb the staircase to the top of the watch tower for panoramic views as far as the eye can see!

After dinner why not pop into Castle Demesne Park, just steps from the town’s square. Kids will love the freedom of the safe wooded paths and the luscious green fields of the 100 acre parkland is a great place to enjoy a kick about before sundown.
