Music for Mental Health returns to Limerick with stellar lineup

Music for Mental Health will return to Limerick with a stellar line-up to raise funds for three local charities.

The annual fundraising and mental health awareness gig will take place in Dolans Warehouse on Thursday, October 10 - with special guests Denise Chaila, Emma Langford, Pat Shortt and many more.

This year, Music for Mental Health will raise funds for Limerick Suicide Watch, the Children’s Grief Centre, as well as Limerick Haven Hub.

A special live video recording will be taking place on the night, with Emma Langford leading a group of artists who will perform a new version of The Cranberries classic, Animal Instinct.

The track and video will then be released early 2025 to support Haven Hub, a charity which offers peer support and suicide prevention to the community.

Organised by Humanli and supported by Limerick City and County Council, the event aims to raise mental health awareness while giving a platform to local artists.

Founder of Humanli and organiser of the event, Karl Daly said: “We created the event back in 2018 to support young artists, promote positive mental health and create awareness. Limerick has huge musical talent and we encourage support for the event from the public and the business community.”

This will be the sixth edition of Music for Mental Health. With its previous five editions, Humanli has raised close to €100,000 for Limerick charities.

Speaking of their first gig, Mr Daly said: “Our first gig had Noel Hogan on stage and in a bizarre twist that weekend Dolores passed away in London, so we have been keeping the event going ever since. It was initially planned as a one-off.”

Mr Daly added: “The show is being recorded in full on the night, so we are welcoming the Limerick public to join us. This will be a special and unique experience for everyone that comes along.”

Raging Songs, Keith Walsh, Joyce Zacks & Band and Stray Saints will also perform at the event, which will start at 8pm.

Tickets are limited and priced at €15. You can book tickets via Dolans.ie (Link: https://www.dolans.ie/gigs-events-live-music-listings/2024/10/10/music-for-mental-health
