Limerick City and County Council was named Local Authority of the Year 2023 at the twentieth annual Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards which took place on Thursday 23rd November.
The overall award recognised the Council’s extensive work in promoting Limerick as a positive, inclusive and sustainable place to live, work, visit and invest.
The prestigious awards are held in association with the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. They recognise and celebrate the outstanding work being carried out by Local Authorities all over Ireland.
Two Limerick City and County Council projects also won awards: Student Planners: Inspiring Future Generations and Limerick on Foot. Eight more projects were shortlisted for awards.
