‘Tis the season to be jolly in Limerick with a host of Christmas festivities ready to take off like Santa’s sleigh! Step in to Christmas in Limerick, as we embrace the holiday spirit.

Limerick City and County Council’s Marketing and Communications Department is embarking on a five-week multi-media campaign highlighting all the Happy Christmas happenings. 

From captivating entertainment to the gift of free fun, Limerick.ie/Christmas is the ultimate destination for your holiday cheer with all you need to know about events and activities taking place over the festive period. 

With aerial acrobatics, ice skating and circus performances, street shows, Santa visits and pantos there is something magical for everyone to enjoy. Oh, yes there is! 

Indulge in the seasonal atmosphere with shopping trips, lively nights out, fashion shows, choral concerts, opera and theatre performances. 

A comprehensive event guide is available to download with a printed version being distributed to businesses and various locations right across the city and county. 

There will also be Christmas in Limerick messaging across social media, radio and newspapers. 

And, don’t miss out on the many competitions with amazing prizes up for grabs.

  • Christmas in Limerick Seasonal Street Shows – Free Family Fun 
    Limerick city’s streets will be full of Christmas cheer each weekend in December with jugglers, stilt walkers, mischievous elves, bearded ballerinas and wacky walkabout performers running amok. Christmas shoppers and visitors to Limerick city can avail of more than 9,000 designated on and off street car parking spaces, 46 km of dedicated cycle lanes and over 30 bus routes serving the city, county and region.

Weekend Park and Stride 

  • FREE parking in Limerick City and County Council Car Park behind Merchant’s Quay 

  • Access is via Nicholas Street 

  • 9am to 10pm - Saturdays & Sundays from 26 Nov – 23 Dec   

  • 9am – 4pm Christmas Eve   

City Centre On-Street Parking  

  • Over 4,000 on-street parking spaces in Limerick City  

  • Parking is from 50c per half hour (Monday to Saturday)  

  • On-Street Parking is always FREE after 5.30pm daily and all day Sunday  

 Abbeyfeale, Kilmallock and Newcastle West 

  • First hour FREE between 9.30am – 5.30pm as usual  

  • Additional 2 hours FREE on-street parking  from 2.30pm daily from 03 Dec – 31 Dec  

  • FREE on Sundays as always
