Limerick has received funding of €508,722 under the CLÁR funding programme 2024, Measure 1 to improve and enhance a number of sports and community facilities, throughout the county.
Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, has today (7th October 2024) announced over €11.4 million to deliver 264 projects under the Programme with Limerick receiving €508,722 with sports clubs, national schools and community groups benefiting from this year’s scheme.
The projects will have a meaningful impact on the local communities, enhancing existing facilities and supporting the vibrancy of rural communities. The programme highlights the importance of the delivery of services in rural communities and also recognises the commitment to growing local rural communities, in line with government policy.
Welcoming the announcement, Mayor of City and County of Limerick, John Moran said:
“Over half a million euro in funding to support the delivery of projects in CLÁR areas in Limerick is a significant boost for our community. This funding will enhance sports and community facilities across the county, making a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents. It underscores our commitment to growing and supporting vibrant rural communities.”
