The Limerick Mayoral Advisory and Implementation Committee convened today for its fourth meeting, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to implement the Mayoral Programme for 2024-2029.
The committee, which meets quarterly, is dedicated to reviewing progress and ensuring the effective delivery of the programme's goals.
To address specific areas of work, the committee will establish subcommittees as needed.
Mayor of Limerick, John Moran is seeking the formation of at least three implementation subcommittees. These subcommittees will focus on the rigorous monitoring and delivery of the Mayoral Programme across three key strands:
- A More Liveable Limerick: Enhancing affordable housing and improving the quality of life.
- A More Prosperous Limerick: Creating more job opportunities for graduates and others.
- A More Healthy Limerick: Prioritising wellbeing and health initiatives.
Mayor Moran is enthusiastic about the committee's potential impact, saying,
"This marks a significant step forward in our efforts to drive sustainable and inclusive growth right across Limerick. I am grateful to each of the members for accepting my invite to shape the future of Limerick. This innovative statutory committee allows strategic discussion involving the Executive, elected councillors and representatives of civil society. By harnessing the expertise and dedication of our committee members, I aim to create a more liveable, prosperous, and healthy Limerick with transparent and effective delivery at its core.
